Heard Of Emotional Freedom Tapping?
Have you heard of EFT Tapping – Emotional Freedom Tapping? Is it something you know how to do?
In this article, I’ll, introduce you to Emotional Tapping and an introduction into how it’s done.
For starters, the method was created by Gary Craig, Emotional Freedom Technique founder. With your fingertips, you tap, on points on your body’s energy system on your torso and your face. While you are tapping, you remember an event.
You end up thinking and feeling differently about the issue. Here is an example of this tapping technique.
We’ll use the example of an upsetting memory of your young life. You got in trouble for something you did. You remember the shame of feeling like a bad person?
Over the course of your life, you have continued to believe that there is something wrong with you, even though you may not be consciously aware of that belief.
Here is the way you’d use EFT therapy to clear the disturbing emotions and beliefs you still hold from that event.
You think about the event while tapping on various energy meridian points on your head, face and torso. There are eight tapping points that are commonly used by an EFT practitioner.
So, focusing on the event, and bringing up your feelings about it, you tap on the energy points. You can also put your focus on the belief that was formed during the event. – that you are a bad person, or that something is wrong with you.
What happens, is that after you’ve tapped while tuning into your memory, your reaction to the memory alters. You can go from feeling ashamed to feeling peaceful. The emotions you feel often transform from resentment, upset, frustrated, overwhelmed – to feeling calm and compassionate. People often go from feeling scared to confident.
